DPR Supports Bali as Special Province on Fri Jul 17, 2009 2:34 pm
The House of Representatives (DPR) supports Bali being given special treatment as a national tourism asset. The Deputy Chairman of DPR Commission II, Sayuti Asythri, who visited Bali yesterday (15/7), said he considered this as something normal.
He went on to say that it would be a technical matter to decide whether Bali's status will be covered by special autonomy or as a special province.
This support from the DPR is a response to a complaint made by Bali Governor, Made Mangku Pastika. He said Bali has been praised as tourism icon but there has been no real support to improve its infrastructure. *RRI
